Peterson “Blackrock” B11.

Peterson “Blackrock” B11.

I have always admired the B11 shape, but never actually settled for one in a series to try it,until now.
As usual I love to window shop ,one of my regular places on the web to look at Peterson 'eye candy' is the Italian site Alpascia. On a recent visit there I spotted a series that has always intigued me ,the ”Blackrock”.I seem to find this series more on European sites than on North American ones.It has always caught my interest, with its almost jet black mineral appearance.
I spotted a B11 in this finish and decided to pull the trigger.Again this is for purely scientiffic interest and research it has nothing to do with my weakness!! If successful I may commission the shape in a silver spigot high grade, as I think the B11 looks stunning in that form.
So have a look at the photo,it is on it's way and following arrival I will keep you all posted on it's performance.

This is a photo of the beautiful B11 Silver Spigot that I now have on order.

  1. Another excellent purchase, Jim. It certainly does have a wonderful eye appeal, doesn't it? I'll be eagerly awaiting further reports on this fine addition to your collection.

  2. In a conversation with Angela some time ago, she told me the Blackrock was exclusive to the Italian market. Evidently Ashton thinks the Donagal Rocky is close enough that we coloniests wouldn't shell out for it.
    Hrumph.

  3. Thanks guys.

Chuck, I think Ashton are way off beam with their assumption.
As you know the Donegal Rocky are very basic entry level Petes. The Blackrocks I am sure, are premier quality briar and the ferruls are sterling silver.Poor comparison by them.

  4. Jim, I forgot to ask, is the Blackrock available with a P-lip or a FT, or both?

  6. Another stunning addition to your collection. Great buy Jim.
So will this be a smoker or a specimen for preservation? Just curious about the quality of smoke it would provide. I have seen a few of these on the web and have always wondered.
    Congratulations and enjoy.

  9. Yea, I think I like your version better. But of course I cannot give an honest opinion until you send them both to me for a comparative smoke in each. I'd return them as soon as I have made a fair assessment.

  10. The new B 11 spigot is a graceful pipe beautifully done. Smoke the Blackrock and admire the spigot?
